Fall Engagement Session Myths

One of the biggest myths out there is that you need perfect sunny weather for amazing engagement photos. Spoiler alert: that’s just not true! Drew and Shianne’s session was on a cloudy day, but it was honestly perfect! The soft light created this moody, romantic vibe that showcased their love in the best way possible. It’s all about that cozy energy!

Myth #1: You Can’t Take Great Photos on Cloudy Days
Many people believe that cloudy weather means dull photos. In reality, overcast days can actually provide the most flattering light! The diffused sunlight eliminates harsh shadows and gives a soft, dreamy quality to your images.

Myth #2: You Have to Wait for Summer to Get Great Engagement Photos
Some couples think they have to wait for summer to capture beautiful engagement photos. But fall is an equally stunning season! The rich colors, crisp air, and unique vibes of autumn create an enchanting backdrop that you just can’t get any other time of year.

A couple joyfully walks hand-in-hand down a gravel path surrounded by golden grass and lush green hills. The man, wearing a black jacket and a white t-shirt, shares a genuine smile with the woman, who is dressed in a black jacket and light blue jeans. The cloudy sky and mountain backdrop set the mood for their fall engagement photos, showcasing the beauty of love in nature.

So, don’t stress about the weather when planning your engagement or proposal photos! British Columbia can provide stunning backdrops, rain or shine. Whether you’re outdoors soaking up that BC magic or cozying up indoors, I’m here for it! And if you’re feeling adventurous, we can totally embrace the rain, because who wouldn’t want to go full Notebook style? (That’s always a vibe!).

Tips for Your Fall Engagement Session

Ready to make your engagement session epic? Here are some tips to keep in mind:

  1. Location, Location, Location: Pitt Lake is a fab spot for fall engagement photos! But think about what represents you as a couple. Do you want a scenic lake, a cozy forest, or an urban backdrop with fall decor? Choose a place that feels like you!
  2. Layer It Up: Fall weather can be a bit unpredictable, so dressing in layers is your best bet! Throw on some cute cardigans, funky scarves, and stylish jackets. Not only will you look great, but you’ll also stay cozy while showing off your love!
